Savannah Senior Strikers – Annual Meeting and Election of Officers

Our annual meeting will once again be held at Crosswinds Golf Club following our round of golf on October 7, 2026. The meeting is expected to begin between 2:30 and 3:00 PM.

This is an important meeting for our organization. In addition to conducting our biannual election of officers, we will review and discuss our recently completed tournament as part of an after-action review (AAR).

Election of Officers and the Future of Our Organization

As many of you know, I have sent out several notices regarding the upcoming election, asking members to consider stepping forward and taking on a leadership position. Unfortunately, I have not received any 

responses.

I have previously discussed my own thoughts about stepping down as president. I also raised the possibility of retaining the Savannah Senior Strikers name while giving up our 501(c)(3) designation, recognizing that maintaining that status requires an active and committed group of officers and members.

Following that discussion, several of our senior members spoke with me and encouraged me to remain as president and to maintain our 501(c)(3) status. After giving it some thought, I agreed to stay on, but with one important condition: We need more members willing to step up, get involved, and share the responsibility of moving this organization forward.

With that understanding, the following slate of officers will be presented for a vote at our October 7 meeting:

• President: Gary Riley
• Vice President: Clyde Campbell
• Treasurer: JC Caughman
• Secretary: Vanessa Diggs
• Tournament Director: Billy Willis

Your Attendance Is Important

I cannot emphasize enough how important it is for everyone to attend this meeting. The decisions we make and the level of commitment we demonstrate will have a direct impact on the future of the Savannah Senior Strikers. This organization belongs to all of us, and its continued success depends on everyone's willingness to participate and contribute. Lunch will be served, and I need to get an accurate headcount.

If you are playing golf that day, I will already have your name on the list. If you are not playing but plan to attend the meeting, please let me know in our text thread so I can include you in the lunch count.

I look forward to seeing everyone on October 7. Let's come together, take care of our business, and continue building on what we have worked so hard to establish.
